Just when it seems the never ending piles of firewood will not be stacked before the snow flies, miraculously it all is. It's a good feeling to know we're prepared for cold, even if our required arsenal grows more and more each fall. This year, five bush cords were delivered. Like a shepherd worried about having enough hay to feed his flock through the cold, lean months, there is that fear that a late winter storm will find us plum out of wood. It takes a lot to satiate two wood stoves.
This season, we're also reveling in the gratitude of having neighbours who are much, much more than the people who live next door. So while there is wood at the ready to keep our bodies warm, our hearts are kept even warmer.
~Be well friends

ReplyDeleteLovely photos of your Fall weekend, Andrea. Great neighbours are a blessing. My guys are heading up to my in-laws in the next few weeks to make sure they have enough cut too.

ReplyDeleteGuessing the neighbors say that about you! Know what you mean about the wood; I always feel better after our 3 tons of pellets are delivered!

ReplyDeleteas always.. loving my time catching up (a little bit) here, Andrea! It's always like going home to me. Is it wrong for me to say that someday I hope and pray we'll have neighbors like the ones you speak of? (not that we have bad neighbors, but...) ;) ♥ -Tammy
