Upon the first of May

Today, this first day of May, was warm and beautiful, filled with sunshine from top to bottom. I reckon this day was a good omen of things to come. For May around these parts means not only celebrating mothers, but also birthdays, long weekends with fireworks, and toiling in the soil, all of which equates to plenty of time out of doors and plenty of good seasonal food. My mouth starts to water at the simple thought of fiddleheads and asparagus on my plate to celebrate another garden sowed. Here's to May...let the good times roll.

  5. And here in Manitoba, Canada, we're delighted to see the last of our snow go. But now there are fears of flooding in some areas. I'm sure, with God's help, we'll make it through OK, though.

  7. I'm happy it's finally May too... no fireworks on the horizon but perhaps a picnic/potluck and a long weekend? And my fingers are crossed for lots and lots of sunny days, in the garden of course!
