Spring in a Bag

You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming.
~Pablo Neruda

Perhaps not, Pablo, but its Autumn and right now spring feels rather far away and this morning as I sit, enjoying the quiet solitude with a warm cup of coffee, I get up to let the dog out for her morning ritual. As I make my way to the door in the darkness, the moon lights up the deck and even before I turn on the lights I see that our world has been doused with snow, reflecting the moonlight into the house. Then I trip over that bag of tulip bulbs that haven't been planted yet. And I wonder.

How is spring going to arrive, Pablo, when its still sitting in a bag at my back door?

Por favor, get back to me on that SeƱor, will ya?

Not sure what that flower is, but it is cool. I royally suck at planting bulbs, I get them and they sit in the bag. Sure doesn't work that way does it?

I had to chuckle at you tripping over the bag of tulip bulbs. I kept thinking this summer that the sunflowers I had planted were not growing, figured something was wrong with the seeds, that was until I found the seed packets that had never been opened.

This is a beautiful shot - so soft and dreamy. And sadly, I can relate to your bag of tulips...

I actually DID get my tulips planted this fall... only the second time ever that I've actually gotten bulbs planted that I've purchased!

And that photo... one of my all time favorites, beautiful!

You made me chuckle... I know all about things waiting for spring.. I bought three packets ($5 a piece) of giant pumpkin seeds (from the Washington State Fair, from those gigantic 1500# pumpkins) I keep moving them around on my desk as I pay bills, do my Bible study and write in my journal... Thank you for coming by to share on Rurality Blog Hop #40!
