From the top:
A first blossom on the heirloom Baldwin apple tree, part of the fruit and nut trees planted this summer. The apple and pear trees are close to the pond and that's a good thing. They require watering every three to four days when there is a lack of rain and we all know there wasn't much of that going around this summer.
Summer lavender, of which I can simply not get enough of. Sometimes I imagine covering every square inch around the old farmhouse with these plants. Who needs to eat when you have lavender to smell? Living in a lavender paradise.
Ever bearing strawberries planted last year. It's been a struggle to keep them weed free this year but the chickens seem to appreciate our efforts.
The pond...on a summer afternoon as we celebrated the twins turning thirteen. Oh my.
Summer dawning...a random moment, beautifully captured by the Artist.

The pond reminds me of my home place where I grew up. Yours is beautiful. I am sure that you enjoy it. A perfect place for birthday celebrations. The apples look wonderful and delicious, unlike ours--rather the lack of since our tree succumbed to an early frost. Love your photos.
