Inspiration

It's late as I write this and I've been busy downloading two weeks worth of photos from my camera. I've signed up for a course with my local camera shop tomorrow morning so I can learn how to use all the bells and whistles on my new camera. When I started blogging, I had no idea how much it would turn me on to photography and how frustrating my point and shoot camera would become.  So when I received an unexpected windfall, I bought myself this Nikon. I've had it for several months and I still don't know how to view pictures on the camera itself or how to work the HD video mode. I guess if I read the manual I might figure it out but, hey, it's summer and I've been busy.

So while I was charging up the battery, (because how embarrassing would it be if I ran out of power halfway through the morning?) I looked over the photos on my laptop and I decided I really do need this course. I wasn't very happy with many of the shots and if I accidentally deleted them during the class it would be no great loss. Then I came across this one, SOOC by the way, and perhaps, just maybe, there is hope for me yet.
Then again, it could just be the subject matter. Having a model who tugs on your heart strings could be all the inspiration I need.

Whaaaa...I want that camera!! And the smartest thing to do is take the classes and learn how to use it...I know I would have to ...I think I have like the original digital point and shoot and I hang on to it because I know how to use it...time for me to move on also...(I need a windfall...lol)

Hi Andrea! I have a Nikon D40 that I've had for about 4 years...I still don't know how to use anything but the auto mode! I hate reading instructions but I REALLY want to learn to use the manual. Maybe you can teach us how to do that once you learn??!! LOL! Anyway that is a GREAT photo...and that's a wonderful camera. Enjoy! Have a great weekend...Maura :)

Andrea, Oh how I wish I could take that course with you! I've had my new camera since the spring, but I'm very limited in it's use. I even bought a book to teach me, but like you said, life's busy and have I gotten past chapter 2? Nope.
Have fun learning!

Oh yeah Andrea that is a wonderful capture. I love my Nikon D60 but it likes to boss me around! And I also have to say that I am having a small love affair with my 35mm lens. I can't make myself twist it off. I would like to be heading to your camera class too. Hope you give us an update :)

That photo is exquisite. The coolness of the background colors contrast with the warmth of your boy. I love his expression--I see love, trust and a little bit of reflection in that expression. Simply lovely.
