Coming soon to a mailbox near you!

The male twin has been a bit concerned of late.

Troubled that maybe not everyone in the country is able to keep up on the goings on in the NHL.

He had a plan to rectify that and, today, he put his plan into action.

Meet the Hockey Reporter of the old farmhouse.
He sat down last night at his desk and wrote his article. Then after school today, he printed copies for the neighbours.

Yep.

He's asked me for the last week if I thought this was a good idea.

You see, he wants to be a sports reporter someday.

That could change with the wind but, for now, it is what is.

I learned to go with the flow, a long time ago.
I was able to sneak this photo of the reporter/delivery boy from my rear view mirror.

We decided I would join him for his first delivery and since it was getting near dinner time and the threat of rain that had been lingering all day wasn't in any hurry to leave, we traveled by car.

And the funniest part of all or maybe a sign that this is his true calling as an impartial witness of fact?

He's not even a Leafs fan.

 ~Be well friends~

He's not a Leafs fan?! For shame! Seriously though, he could send that news article to me. Good for him, delivering it to his neighbours. My cousin and I wrote a newspaper when we were about his age. We got tired of printing it over and over by hand so we just sold them to our mums for five cents each. It was a short lived operation.

Okay ... this is adorable! I love the photo of your son proudly holding up his story for the camera. What do you mean ... not a Leaf's fan? My hubby & son were actually at Game 2. They bleed BLUE! Your neighbours must be tickled to receive these updates in their boxes. Wish I lived in your delivery zone! Have a great weekend!

that male twin is just so darn cute!
Last weekend my son and his 6 yr old went mailbox stuff too. They were putting invitations for a Halloween party in the boxes. Daddy would drive up and Alex would stuff. They were about an hour behind the mailman. The same little newspaper was stuffed into every box by the postal carrier. Finally Alex said" I see that guy's picture in every box". Too funny, and in reality, the newspaper he was seeing was from the electric compnay I work for and it was my boss's picture on it!

Have a great fall weekend!

Sweet story Andrea. I'll be looking for him reporting sports "who knows how" by the time he gets ready for a career. I am sure whatever he chooses he will do it very well and with enthusiasm :)

I am not a sports fan, just a twin fan!

So cute! Did he run into any Habs fans? haha A boy wanting to write something may quite possibly become a star reporter.
We are HUGE hockey fans here. Hubby lives and breathes it. From OHL to East Coast to NHL and everything in between. He forgets things at the store but knows ALL the stats on every junior and NHL'er, even their hometowns, minor teams and most birthdays. Kinda weird that way ;)

That rear view mirror picture is so good, someday you will look at that picture and be so glad you allowed him to follow his dreams. Great post!

LOVE the rearview pic. You can let him know we're hockey fans here in the states too. My husband is watching the Canucks as I type!

I'm a fan of the "in person" games. I spent 10 years sitting in cold rinks watching my son's games and practices - not to mention the 5:00 am Friday practices and REALLY smelly gear! If that's not a hockey fan, I don't know what is.... or maybe that's the mom in me. Love the game, it's the only sport I actually understand :).

Enjoy your weekend,
Chris

Okay, he's adorable for sure. Just a doll but even better is the fact that he's so enterprising and caught up in something. I love to see children who are doing something creative and who are stretching their imaginations and minds. You've done a great job raising him.
