Whirley days are here

Did I mention I received a Whirley Pop popcorn maker for Christmas?

I love the fact that it does not require electricity but
I'm even happier that we have kissed microwave popcorn goodbye.

And you know what?

This stuff tastes soooo much better.

Butter is not required.

I see popping corn being added to the garden list this year, in a jiffy!

And it was the perfect snack to celebrate the eve of a whirley, swirly snow day.

~Cheers friends!~

Okay this is so weird, I have been researching them for the past two weeks. I have found out that a local farm and supply store is suppose to sell them. but with the blizzard of 2011 I can't get there.
I make kettle corn all the time in my little sauce pan, and it would be nice to have a stirrer on the inside.
Kettle corn is easy, for my pan, I use 1/4 c. kernels and 2 T. sugar. Pour sugar into pan after oil and kernels are heated a bit. Pop, when it's finished I add a tiny bit of salt. So good!
So do you really really like the whirly pop?

I love your new header! Happy snow day. I haven't heard of a Whirley Pop but I may just have to check it out. I'm avoiding microwave popcorn with all the sodium etc.

I've never heard of a whirly popper! I haven't had microwave popcorn in years because I got scared of it. I sure miss popcorn.

We received one a few years ago, used it a few times and then hubby went back to microwave. I usually don't eat popcorn - too much salt! :)

I know I've said this before, I LOVE your new header, it's such a wow effect when your page comes up!

Love those whirly poppers. I don't own a microwave and have yet to find a whirly popper...so I use my stock pot and a tad bit of Olive Oil...works great.

Do you know that I have two of these packed away some where in one of the barns (I have no idea where!) - my husband bought them at thrift stores some time ago. I've never used one -- we do the microwave kind (I know -- bad, bad!)

Well, this is really a coincidence! I have a whirly-popper that I've had for a number of years. Just last night when I was putting away my pots and pans after dinner, I looked at that thing taking up space and thought maybe I should donate it during my spring cleaning.....

Maybe I'll give it another chance,
Chris

OK I've never heard of that- or realized there is specific popping corn. I'm a dork!

I didn't know that's what this type of popper is called but it just looks like the popcorn would taste better. :) I bet it smells so good too.

Why I have never heard of a whirly popper, but what a great gadget to own. I do believe a cocoa machine would pair up well, can anything beat popcorn and cocoa on a snow day? May I just add what a handsome young man you have! Oh, and I love the new header too!

My parents got us one for Christmas about 10 years ago. We LOVE it and use it every Sunday night with cheese and apples. Our Sunday nite fare. Our 11 year old daughter now makes it better than I do! You'll love it, and it will last for years!
