Barn Charm #6

Hello friends. Isn't it nice to have blogger back? I don't think we'll take it for granted again, at least not for the rest of the month, wouldn't you say? For the moment, I'm recovering from more than a blogger outage, but a weekend long workshop. I've been studying up on beekeeping and pest management. It's quite possible my brain has turned to honey thinking about varroa mites but I could think of worse things to have inside my head - honey that is not mites! And considering it rained continually all weekend, as in the whole enchilada it was a good time to be inside except for when we weren't. But it was still fun to be out and about in the bee yard, even if the bees suffered from a bad case of cabin fever.

As I sloshed through the puddles along the back roads, traveling back and forth from the old farmhouse, I passed that shy beauty pictured above, the one peeking around the corner, and knew I had to capture her charm along with that of her sweet little sidekick. Nothing says charm to me than a few stars and the odd missing window pane.
And maybe a beehive out in the yard.

I can't get over the lush green carpet your beautiful barn is sitting on.
I like the way you made it postcard perfect.

Hey Bee Girl! :) I love the photos, the subjects, and your special TLC to them!! I'd love to sit in on a bee workshop weekend (goodness knows, I could sure use the info!). We are sort of diving into this bee-venture without much of a plan. So I hope it all works out. Keep us posted on your bee-ventures!

Also, I want to shout out a Happy Birthday to your Mom!! -Tammy

You are quite precious being a steward of your land. Its hard, but its so fun and exciting. Moving from suburbia to the country was quite a transition for us. However, along the way, the folks I've encounter at all my workshops and just folks I consider my "go-to people" who show me the way, are just the best friends I've encounter in quite a while ~ the real deal. Bring on those bees too. I'm planting my apple trees and hopefully the bees from Orchard Creek Farm will find their way back here to me. Debi

Oh how I can't wait to dive into bees {not literally of course}. For now, I'll live vicariously through your adventures. Love the photos and the textures you used. I have to dive into the texture world someday too! Beautiful.
Have a great week.

Lovely barn photos! Bee Keeping? I am looking forward to future bee posts, I find the life of bees so interesting, but intimidating! Good luck!

What an appealing barn. The one shot with the texture added is awesome. Love the star on the side....the white and green give a nice contrast. The owners have definitely kept up with their paint jobs. Lovely shots.

That is a neat looking barn with lots of style. I like the way they painted the windows and how they stand out. The star is an added bonus. Fine post. Good luck with the bee keeping....that is I hope the weather is better for the bees soon! :-)
