Beagle Ears

The first horse show of the season, at the stable where the twins ride, was a bit of a bust. The girl twin had a previous engagement and the male twin had some trouble of the horsin' around variety. His favourite girl Frosty was acting up and it trickled through the herd like wild fire. He had to scratch each and every event. It just wasn't safe. And while I was quite proud of his showmanship despite the obstacles presented that day. I was a little disappointed myself. I was there to take pictures. I don't just hang around barns acting like I've been there all my life. No one would buy it. I got just one photo in which for me is rather unusual. And I really liked my single shot which is also unusual. But I have a thing for beagles and an affinity with beagle ears. They're soft, smooth and pliable between your fingers. Don't believe me? Try it some time!

Beagle ears.
All's well that ends well.

My dad had a beagle as a kid :) :) It was so fat, it looked more like a basset hound :) :) I love this photo. I'm going to show it to my father. He'll love it, too :) :) Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :) :)

So cute! I love the way the dog is sleeping next to that big 'ole horse, looking completely relaxed. And dogs' ears are one of the sweetest, softest things EVER! :)

Well that's too bad. But the beagle was worth it!

J had a beagle named Daisy. She was very old and went to Heaven right before we met. He speaks of her often with so much happiness! He had a little snood he had to put on her at dinner time, so her ears would not lay in her food. The pics are sooo cute :)

I am very happy to hear that your barn manager was smart enough (and not led by greed of winning!)
to call off letting Frosty ride. VERY smart, indeed! All ages of riders should heed this advice.
(This is how goodfriend Jane had her life threatening accident last summer)
Your son learned a great lesson about horses. That they are living, breathing creatures and just like us they have bad days :)

There will more shows and with each one he will experience something new, good or bad! I love that he is sticking with it!!!

Your shot of the cute little beagle is adorable. I love how he is just a lazzing away the day and not at all concerned about getting tread on by a horse!

Too bad about the show, we had lots of times where my son's horse acted up, hang in there! My mother has/had two beagles, Daisy and Zoe (who lives at Rainbow bridge now), love those ears!!
