Is anybody out there?

One of the 'not-so-little-anymore' people that lives here, has been in dire straights for the last five years. Life, it seems, without televised hockey, is a sad state of affairs. I'll be honest, once every two years I enjoy watching the Olympics and sometimes, depending on the year, I could possibly watch the Oscars...or at least the first hour or so but the rest of the time, I can take it or leave it.

With that, while in the midst of preparing food storage for the long, lean months ahead, we decided to add to our repertoire of winter entertainment. You could say that we've joined the modern age, even though we're still a few decades behind the times. I must say the phrase 'to hell in a hand basket' also pops into my head but, hey, it's local news and documentaries to knit by.  One thing's for sure, our Saturday nights are about to become a heck of a lot more sport-ish.

If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace.

I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set,
I go into the other room and read a book.
Groucho Marx

Life doesn't imitate art, it imitates bad television.

That's funny--we're about to lose our TV completely. I'm tired of paying for things I don't want to watch. It should be interesting...

If he loves hockey as much as hubby and Josh it will be awesome having the channels. Our oldest is more into documentaries and history channel programs and a few sitcoms. I admit we have too many TV's and too many channels but I only watch two 1 hour shows a week if time permits. The rest of the channels are devoted to my hockey crazy guys. Happy Thanksgiving.
