City Turkeys

Taken with my iPhone.

I happened to look out the window at work yesterday morning to catch a glimpse of a flock of wild turkeys wandering around the parking lot.

After years, and I do mean years, of saving birthday cash I bought a telephoto lens last weekend.

My camera was in the back seat of my car and I hummed and hawed as I watched the turkeys wander around looking for an escape route, likely wondering how they got themselves into such a predicament.

After 60 seconds of deliberation, I went for broke and ran out to my car. Spreadsheets weren't balancing and when that happens, there's nothing one can do, people, but step away from the numbers.

I got this shot. It was a great way to break in a new lens.

And forget about that spreadsheet for a while.

P.S. Those brilliant yellow locust trees above are just beyond my computer screen where I sit most days. Not a bad view, for the city.

Wow....that lens really does the trick!!!

I can't imagine having a flock of turkeys on a city street tho. It's awesome.

I'm new to Random 5 this week, and thought I'd try and get the gist of it all by paying you a visit!! Happy weekend.

Wow, awesome shot! Photos are so much more fun than spreadsheets. And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who gets easily distracted by photo opportunities. ;) Do you mind me asking which lens you got?

Great shot. Funny, City Turkeys. I recently had a visit to my front yard of the same cool creatures. My dog went crazy. And today I came upon the turkey vultures. They were cool lookin' too! HAPPY FRIDAY! Aloha
