Know what I mean?

After the bulk of our summer was spent cleaning up the aftermath of the Rural Survival of 2013, outside jobs that were on the books were quickly shelved. Now that the indoor season is upon us, the Artist is in the mood to get some inside work done, and I'd be a silly woman to say no to such talk. It means things will be in a state of upheaval for the next month or so but that's okay, I'm starting to get used to that.

Speaking of being in the mood, I've got the yearning for making soap. Fortunately, the Artist's renovation plans don't include the kitchen...much.

I read this recently about parenting and being, well, a mean parent. And I loved every word. I'm also glad, so very, very glad that my mom was mean. And I mean that with all sincerity. Go read it, and you'll know what I mean. I hope. That was a lot of means, wasn't it?

Speaking of parents, mine return from Europe on Monday. As in three more sleeps. I'm excited, my mom is excited, two months have never felt so long.

We were hit with our first hard frost yesterday, and I drove through scattered flurries on my way into the office. Winter is coming!

Good for you for having a mean Mom. Nothing wrong with teaching right and wrong, good and bad, manners! Enjoy your reunion.

God bless them! Problem with today is parents don't want to be "mean".
Now, making soap sounds interesting!
