A Mystery?

Not too long ago, my anonymous commenter who goes by the name Mom, came to visit me.
I felt like I'd known her all my life.
An elderly relative was downsizing and a few of her treasures were rerouted from the local Goodwill to the old farmhouse. There was something for everyone, but especially me!

More on that later.

Anonymous/Mom/Stalker

asked me to show you these.
They had been stored with crafting and needle work supplies but she, nor I, know exactly what they are.

Do you?

There are made from wood, flat on one side, rounded on the other, as seen by the one in the top of the photo. The bottom two have much more wear, and the holes at each end are slightly larger than the other four.

Here's another view.
I'm hoping someone out there knows, maybe it's you?

 ~Be well friends~

The Stalker finally found out where you live!
I knew it would happen...
And she brings strange artifacts with her...
Hmmmmmm. There are two mysteries here!

Alas, not being a crafty person, I have no idea what they are for. Maybe they have mini cameras in them and then she will know whether or not you clean your toilets and/or put on clean underwear everyday!
You know, Stalker Mom stuff!

Let me know when she leaves and it's safe. Or just fly a pink kite!

xo, misha

Hmmm, intriguing. At first glance I thought you had disassembled a set of chimes so obviously I will be of no help in your search. Lots of crafting over the years here, but I'm not sure about those. Some kind of mechanical bobbin or something???

Who knows, the Stalker may just grow on you.

Hmm, I am not sure what the wooden objects might be, perhaps something to do with weaving? Hope someone can come up with an answer, good luck and let us know!

I thought they were chimes too. Maybe they're ancient hair rollers. Didn't George Washington have wooden false teeth? LOL!!

They're part of a do-it-yourself purse. I'm flashing back to the 70's with this one, and I can't remember exactly how they work. I know that the wood parts slip through a casing at the top of each side of the purse, and the strap goes through the holes. All I can bring up is a vague mental picture. Anyone remember this any better?

Oh a purse! Who would have thought?!

A purse? I would have never guessed that. I was thinking chimes too.

A stalker called Mom who brings gifts...hmmmm....

Hi Connie at Hartwood Roses! I think you've hit the nail on the head! The "sticks" did belong to an elderly lady who made a couple of handbags (as well as beautifully tailored suits)...mystery solved! I know this wasn't a give-away, but if you'd like to leave Andrea your address, I have just finished knitting a dish cloth (thanks to Deb at Homespun Living for the pattern)that I would be happy to send to you for solving the mystery.
Cheers, The Stalker (aka Andrea's mom)
